You Don’t Need a Boat to Become a Member
One of the most common misconceptions about the Royal Dorset Yacht Club is that membership is only for boat owners and sailors.
It isn’t.
Many of our members simply enjoy the Club’s welcoming atmosphere, vibrant social calendar, excellent hospitality and stunning location overlooking Weymouth Harbour.
Whether you are interested in social events, dining with friends, harbour-side hospitality, sailing and boating, or simply becoming part of a thriving private members’ club, you will find a warm welcome at RDYC.
Membership starts from just £50 per year.

Membership Categories
Associate Membership
£50 per annum
Associate Membership is ideal for those who wish to enjoy the social and hospitality aspects of Club life.
Associate Members may not own, or have access to, a boat over 6 metres in length.
Benefits include:
- Access to Club facilities
- Access to the Club’s social programme
- Regular email updates and priority invitations to Club events
- 5% discount at the Club bar
- At least 5% discount on Club events and functions
Many Associate Members join simply to enjoy the hospitality, friendship and atmosphere of the Royal Dorset Yacht Club.
Affiliate Membership
£150 per annum
Affiliate Membership provides access to Club facilities, activities and social events for those who own, or have access to, a boat over 6 metres in length.
Benefits include:
- Access to Club facilities and activities
- Participation in the Club’s social programme
- Regular email updates and priority invitations to Club events
- 10% discount at the Club bar
- At least 10% discount on Club events and functions
Full Membership
£275 per annum
Full Membership offers the highest level of participation in Club life and governance.
Benefits include:
- Access to all Club facilities and activities
- Regular email updates and priority invitations to Club events
- 20% discount at the Club bar
- At least 20% discount on Club events and functions
- Eligibility to hold Flag Officer positions and other senior Club offices
- Eligibility to apply for authority to fly the prestigious Blue Ensign
- Full participation in the governance and future direction of the Club
